Justin Timberlake is the latest to claim he wants to take a shot at making country music.

In an interview with SiriusXM's The Highway, the "Mirrors" singer says that a country music career is still on the table.

"They're still alive." he said of his Nashville dreams. "I just did an interview earlier today and I said, 'I'm America, that's what I am - in all sense of the word. I grew up outside of Memphis, Tennessee, and I listened to country music, R&B music, classic rock... everything."

Timberlake let the DJs know that if he's going to do a country album, he's going to shoot for the top spot.

"I still got my eyes on a Best Country Album [Grammy]. There's time for that.," he said.

He's definitely got the chops, as anyone whose seen a young JT tear up some Alan Jackson on Star Search can attest:

Is it too much to hope for a Best Of Both Worlds-style country album featuring JT and R. Kelly? ...Yeah, prolly. But I can dream.

Timberlake has been showing his chops in other genres during the 20/20 Experience tour. Recently, the former boy band member whipped out a cover of Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison" to an ecstatic crowd.
