One Direction's Niall Horan getting his own museum in hometown of Mullingar, Ireland
There are plenty of, if not all, One Direction fans would gladly set up a museum for all or any of the Midnight Memories boys. So when news broke this week that Niall Horan would actually get his own museum in his hometown of Mullingar, Ireland, Directioners everywhere most likely planned their trips.
If you're not a fan of Horan or the other boys of One Direction, you might be a little confused at the gesture, but the town of Mullingar is incredibly proud to be the hometown of the pop star.
"Of course we want to honour one of our leading lights," local councillor Aidan Davitt said of the new museum. "Niall is always promoting Mullingar around the world and has said it's something he would support, as did his mother Maura."
Clearly this new museum would drive tourism in Mullingar through the roof, too, though the town already has plenty of One Direction fan visits.
"Fans come here every day looking for Niall's house - they also go to Tesco looking for his dad Bobby - so it would be great to have somewhere for them to go," the councillor added. "Niall would be the star of the show as our most famous son. We would love to get some of his items to display there for fans, as well as interactive footage of his performances around the town."
What do you think of this new museum in Niall's honor? Do you think the same thing will happen in the hometowns of Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik as well?
