Hunter Melissa Bachman, host of Pursuit Channel TV show Winchester Deadly Passion, is receiving a lot of backlash after she posted a photo of herself on Facebook with an African lion that she killed. The photo is disturbing.

Now a new Care2 petition has been created to demand Pursuit, DirecTV and Dish Network get rid of the show.

"Trophy hunting is despicable and counters any efforts of conservation," the petition reads. "These photos represent Bachman's complete disrespect for nature and we do NOT want her influencing our children and being promoted by TV networks."

So far 94,490 people have signed the petition, and 486,000 signed a separate petition (now closed) on Change.org, which was asking the South African government not to allow the TV hunter back into the country.

In addition to posting the photo of herself next to the dead lion, she also shared photos of a zebra and Alaskan brown bear that she had killed. Many people gave Bachman congratulatory comments on her Facebook page after she posted the photos. But the contrary response has been strong with the petitions and with a Facebook paged named Stop Melissa Bachman, which has reached 306,000 likes.

Comedian Ricky Gervais spoke out about the issue on Twitter. He said, "There's a big difference between the natural need for a species to kill and eat prey & just shooting an animal simply as a ghastly trophy."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dish Network, DirecTV and Pursuit did not immediately respond to comment.
