Here's what an eyewitness told Radar Online:
"She seemed to go pale and got very quiet putting pressure on it and whispering to Ina that it was bad. She looked like she was about to faint."
Witnesses say that De Laurentiis immediately left the set for medical attention for her deep cut. The show broke for commercial and when it returned, Brown announced De Laurentiis had left the set to get medical attention. She returned to the show after he pointer finger was bandaged.
The accident was reminiscent of one of Saturday Night Live's most famed sketches where Dan Aykroyd acted as the legendary Julia Child who once cut her hand and bled while taping an episode of her classic cooking show, The French Chef.
During De Laurentiis' absence, Brown took it upon himself to update viewers via Twitter. He tweeted: "#savegiada's finger."
Fans inquiring about De Laurentiis' status flooded the social networking site. Brown responded with, "we did locate the end of Giada's left index finger in the stuffing. Rushing to hospital now."
De Laurentiis joined in the joke and commented with a smiley face. We're glad she's okay.
