Marvel officially confirms Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen for The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Marvel Studios finally officially confirmed on Monday that Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen would play the brother-sister superhero duo of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, respectively, in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The announcement hardly came as a surprise to anyone who had been following the casting news for the movie, as Taylor-Johnson and Olsen had spoken repeatedly about the parts and their names had been connected the roles for months. All that was left was the official announcement, which Marvel finally gave on Monday.
Quicksilver will also appear in the upcoming superhero blockbuster X-Men: Days of Future Past but will be played by Evan Peters (American Horror Story). Fox owns the rights to the X-Men franchise, so Marvel Studios cannot make reference to the fact that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are mutants, nor can Marvel mention that Magneto is their father.
