Ron Burgundy to co-host Canadian curling championships, hopes to change the faces of Mt. Rushmore
Well what do ya know? Ron Burgundy is at again with yet another promotional event, and this one is just as random as some of the others so far. For one thing, he has put out a promotional video in a grassroots effort to have the faces of Mt. Rushmore blown off and replaced with those of the Channel 4 News team.
That's not all. On Sunday he will be co-hosting the Canadian curling championships, Tim Horton's Roar of the Rings on TSN, one of the biggest sporting events that day in Winnipeg. That event will select the country's Olympic curling team.
Burgundy made a statement about the event in a press release: "Marked by the gods of broadcasting and placed into this shimmering green sphere like a golden egg in hay, chosen like an unclean jackal by Noah himself, I accept your hallowed task and sing out with a battle cry worthy of your love and your wisdom," Burgundy said. "And that song is, 'Winnipeg, get ready to paint the town Burgundy!'"
This comes after his appearance on Conan when he debuted his campaign song for mayor Rob Ford of Toronto, and at the beginning of December, Burgundy will make an appearance at Emerson College in Boston as they have an official naming ceremony, changing the School of Communication to the Ron Burgundy School of Communication (for one day only). Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues hits theaters on Dec. 20.
What the short promo for the Roar of the Rings and Burgundy's "Make Rushmore Classy" video where he encourages people to "not over think this one...Let's just do it."
