'Real World' season 29 trailer shows how this time things get even more messy. Exes are thrown into the mix
MTV is still going with its long-running reality show Real World, and the drama has not dissipated over the years. The 29th season starts Jan. 15 and promises even more ridiculous mayhem than ever as they introduce the ex-boyfriends and girlfriends of the cast members, just to mix things up.
As it is being referred to, the Real World: Ex-Plosion is reality TV at its best. People want to see upsets and tears. People want the fights and maybe even some hair pulling. How better could MTV give the people what they want? The cast members apparently did not know that their exes, who they probably thought they wouldn't see again, would just happen to show up at the house.
As one cast member put it, "The whole game's changed now."
Other seasons of the show highlighted how quickly house members could become friends with benefits, or even more. That's drama enough in such tight quarters. Now, not only does that element still exist, the messy and apparently unresolved issues from past relationships get thrown into the mix.
There will be fights. There will be tears. And, not surprisingly, there will be a lot of sexual tension and thwarted expectations. The trailer features a girl holding a knife and saying, "You're pushing me to a level of insanity." Oh, and one of the girls in the house is apparently pregnant. What a lovely environment to bring a new life into the world. But yes, it is the Real World.
