Paul Rudd 'SNL' promos feature 'Anchorman 2' star and Vanessa Bayer fangirling over One Direction, goofy humor and more [WATCH]
After a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, Saturday Night Live will return with a new show this Saturday, Dec. 7, with an all-new episode. This week, Anchorman 2 star Paul Rudd will be hosting the show for the third time and boy band extraordinaire One Direction will take the stage as the musical guest. Leading up to the show's airdate, Rudd and SNL cast member Vanessa Bayer filmed a series of goofy promos, which arrived online last night (Dec. 3).
As with the Lady Gaga promos for her Novemeber episode, the Rudd/Bayer comedy duo features a bit of absurd humor. Playing on the band name "One Direction," the two joke that a car is driving the wrong way down a one way street, most certainly dooming all involved. However, it's all chalked up to a little bit of movie magic.
Other hilarious bits include some good ol' fashioned fangirling for the heartthrobs Niall, Louis, Harry, Zayn and Liam of One Direction. Rudd also can't remember Bayer's name for the life of him and there's some squabbling over who gets to say "the third time is the charm."

Rudd and 1D won't be the only ones to take the stage at 30 Rock this December. The Dec. 14 episode will feature John Goodman and Kings of Leon, followed by the Christmas episode on Dec. 21, starring the modern SNL powerhouses Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake.
