Watch the newest 'Her' movie trailer: Spike Jonze explores love, relationships and technology - hitting select theaters December 18, 2013

In his new film Her, writer/director Spike Jonze explores the range of emotions associated within human beings in terms of relationships and love. Starring Joaquin Phoenix in the near future as a lonely man who develops a romantic relationship with a new technology (voiced by Scarlett Johansson), Her looks like a groundbreaking exploration of the human mind and heart. This week we were treated to the films second, more revealing trailer.

The first trailer for Her introduced us to the basic concept of this interesting love story, but this week's new look is more in depth and showcases the fact that this relationship isn't as "new" to this world as it is ours.

Here is the latest synopsis for Her:

Set in Los Angeles, slightly in the future, "her" follows Theodore Twombly, a complex, soulful man who makes his living writing touching, personal letters for other people. Heartbroken after the end of a long relationship, he becomes intrigued with a new, advanced operating system, which promises to be an intuitive entity in its own right, individual to each user. Upon initiating it, he is delighted to meet "Samantha," a bright, female voice, who is insightful, sensitive and surprisingly funny. As her needs and desires grow, in tandem with his own, their friendship deepens into an eventual love for each other. From the unique perspective of Oscar-nominated filmmaker Spike Jonze comes an original love story that explores the evolving nature-and the risks-of intimacy in the modern world.

Her hits select theaters on December 18, 2013, with a wide release on January 10, 2014.
