'X-Men: Days of Future Past' News: Bryan Singer's Twitter teases 'Apocalypse' sequel in 2016. Should we trust this tweet?
One of the most powerful villains of the Marvel Universe is apparently coming to theaters to take on the X-Men in 2016. According to a Twitter post from filmmaker Bryan Singer, the comic book character Apocalypse will be featured in the sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past.

This is all speculative right now considering it was just a simple tweet, but this is definitely a fan-favorite character for comic readers so it would make sense. The only problem is that Apocalypse could end up being a hard character to develop for one movie.
In the comic series The Age of Apocalypse, the X-Men are introduced to this terrifying new antagonist who is hell-bent on ridding the world of the weak. Clearly not cool with this M.O., the super heroes battle with him and lose! There are other aspects of mythology and biblical allegories, but overall it is a complicated and brilliant storyline.
To be fair, Days of Future Past was a complicated comic series as well, but it managed to make it to the big screen. Perhaps this soon-to-be-released film will help us understand how Singer and his crew will bring Apocalypse into the movie world.
If Singer's tweet is really the announcement of the next film in this series, we should expect to see some hints or even a post-credit feature in Days of Future Past that will confirm this tease.
How do you think Apocalypse will work into the 2016 X-Men film?
