The Amazing Spider-Man 2 after-credits scene reveals third film's villain?
Fans are still digesting the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 but another piece of juicy information has been added to their plates. A new report indicates that the post-credits scene for TASM 2 could reveal the villain for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.
Many fans noticed the Easter egg about 1:15 into The Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer that shows the Vulture's wings and Doctor Octopus' tentacles in the background. But that same point in the trailer also shows the mysterious figure who visits Dr. Curt Connors, aka the Lizard, in the post-credits scene of The Amazing Spider-Man. This brief scene in the new trailer reportedly teases something much greater.
Screen Crush reports through "sources close to the film" that the scene from the trailer is actually part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2's post-credits scene, which will reveal the Venom symbiote suit, likely as a tease for The Amazing Spider-Man 3 or possibly 4.
It seems almost certain at this point that The Amazing Spider-Man film universe is building toward Spidey vs. the Sinister Six, the group of villains from the comics who team up against the web-slinger. The roster of the Sinister Six changed many times throughout the history of the comics, but if we take only the villains who have confirmed or rumored for TASM universe, we get Lizard, Rhino, Doc Ock, Green Goblin, Venom, Electro and Vulture. It is possible different villains could enter the mix, but that's a solid group to choose from to put a roster together.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters on May 2, 2014.
