Supernatural Season 9 spoilers on Garth's return, Sam's future

Supernatural aired its midseason finale last Tuesday and delivered a slew of twists and turns in an action-packed hour that set the stage for the second half of Season 9. We've got some spoilers about what's next for Dean, Sam and a few returning faces to the show.

EW.com has some juicy info about what's to come on Supernatural, including the return of Garth, who took over the Bobby role after the Winchesters' surrogate father passed away:

While we all know that Dean has a hard task in front of him 0 dealing with Kevin's death and also tracking down Gadreel - but in lighter news, I hear the second half will see the return of Garth (DJ Qualls). We're going to get an answer about where the heck he's been and I think you will be surprised. Spoiler alert: There will be hugs. Elsewhere, and on an unrelated note, I hear the second half will see some people we absolutely did not expect to see. More on that shortly."

"People we absolutely did not expect to see" could refer to a deceased character. The list of character deaths on Supernatural is pages long, and anybody could really pop up again. We've seen Bobby, Jo, Ash and Pamela make significant reappearances, just to name a few.

But I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Chuck (who many fans believe was God) is going to return now that the angels have been expelled from Heaven and all these factions are killing each other.
