'The Best Man Holiday,' Taye Diggs & Idina Menzel call it quits!

Mstars has learned that The Best Man Holiday actor, Taye Diggs and his wife of 10 years, Idina Menzel, are separated.

According to PEOPLE, reps reported that "Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs have jointly decided to separate at this time." With the focus being their son, Walker who is only 4-years-old, the couple has asked for privacy during this time.

After meeting on the Broadway musical Rent, the two co-stars got married in January of 2003, and welcomed a son, Walker in 2009.

In 2004, Menzel won a Tony Award for her role in Wicked. She said in a previous interview with PEOPLE, that she and Diggs work at their marriage and find ways to express communication to each other.

"We work at it," she said. "I'm not going to glamorize it or glorify it - we go through tough times like everybody else, but we love each other very much. We try not to be away from each other for more than two weeks at a time, and we try to find new ways to communicate."

Menzel will return to work at Broadway in 2014, for the musical If/Then.
