Prince is set to guest star on an episode of 'New Girl' alongside Zooey Deschanel

Prince always seems to be conjuring up some kind of hype with his next surprise show at Paisley Park in his native Minneapolis or otherwise, and now he's apparently taking his pajamas and his party hat to the set of Fox's New Girl.

The episode will feature Prince, who is apparently a huge fan of the show. This will be the artist's first sitcom appearance. It just so happens to come right after the biggest sporting event of the year, the Super Bowl, (hopefully guaranteeing good ratings), but he's familiar with the Super Bowl buzz after his performance at halftime in 2007.

Dr. Funkenberry has become Prince's go-to for exclusive news, and as it was reported:

"The cast of 'New Girl' will be graced by music royalty as Prince will appear on the show playing himself. The premise for the show is to be centered around his notorious star-studded house parties where he performs."

There is no word yet on whether or not 3rdEyeGirl will join in on the party, but if we're lucky there's a chance that Zooey Deschanel (with her musical background in She & Him) could be up for a pajamatastic duet. It would be right up her character's alley. Although in real life Deschanel has a gluten-free diet, so Prince's preference to serve pancakes at his pajama parties might need to be replaced with some kind of alternative.

Regardless of what type of "Breakfast Can Wait" themed food might be is served at the party, this will surely be one of the best cameos New Girl could ever ask for.
