Fox News is pretty good at regularly running segments that make you go "Whaaaa?" But just in case you don't see the crazy, John Stewart provides a recap almost nightly on his Daily Show. This time he's laying in to Fox News host Megyn Kelly's unfortunate assumption that Santa Claus "just is" white, just like Jesus.

Stewart claims that Kelly has coined a slogan for oppression by saying "Just because it makes you uncomfortable, doesn't mean it has to change." Kelly was responding to a piece on Salon that advocating for transforming Santa from a jolly white man, to a more inclusive penguin.

Kelly regularly interrupted her own to talk to any children that might be watching, to assure them that Santa Claus is white as the pure, driven snow.

"Who are you actually talking to?" Stewart asked. "Children who are sophisticated enough to be watching a news channel at 10 o'clock at night, yet innocent enough to believe Santa Claus is real, yet racist enough to be freaked out if he isn't white? Yes, West Virginia, there is a Santa Claus."

Pundits asserted that St. Nicholas was white and "you can't mess with facts to fit your own political agenda" which, Stewart duly pointed out, is kind of Fox News' whole thing.

For the record, St. Nicholas was from what is now Turkey and was almost certainly dark-skinned.Just to dig the whole a little deeper, Kelly asserts that Jesus was white, saying that it's a verifiable fact.

What do you think? Are people being overly PC in insisting that we change the image of Santa to be in line with historical fact? PROTIP: You shouldn't think that. Like, at all.
