Jessica Simpson talks wedding, weight loss, self-confidence, another baby?
Jessica Simpson recently spoke with US Weekly about her rollercoaster ride in the public eye during her pregnancy. On top of being recognized as a singer, fashion designer and reality TV star, Simpson became a Weight Watchers spokesperson. This put her body on a bigger pedestal than ever before.
Simpson is open about her diet plan, the PointsPlus program. This is what she reverted to after two weeks of the Simple Start program where you're provided with a shopping list and menu. Adding exercise to her routine makes her feel good, and it's not for her weight critics who are tracking her body post second baby, Ace Knute Johnson. "People are going to pick me apart no matter what I do," Simpson says. So she's sticking to what makes her happy, and fitness just happens to actually be part of that.
"With both kids, I'm running up and down my stairs a million times. Kids can keep your metabolism going. Eric and I go on walks together," Simpson says of fiancé Eric Johnson, former NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers. "I try and walk about 4 miles a day consistently. It makes me feel better," Simpson adds.
While Simpson didn't have as much of an appetite and weight gain as she did with her first child Maxwell Drew Johnson (Maxwell is Eric Johnson's middle name), she still is very honest about her thought process during the pregnancy. Going to the doctor for checkups and stepping on the scale, she would think: "Really, I could gain that much weight in one week?"
The 33-year-old is being honest about the bizarre adventure that pregnancy was for her body, which normalizes the journey for the rest of women going through similar changes.
The next chapter: The wedding. "I've been pulling all kinds of sketches for dresses and colors," Simpson says of her wedding dress. "It's a good goal for me. It's good for me to feel the best I've ever felt when I walk down the aisle," she says of her upcoming wedding to Johnson.
As for having more children, Simpson tells U.S. Weekly, "I can't even think about being pregnant again right now." That would make it seem like the deal is sealed, but she further says: "I would never say never."
Simpson is certainly public about balancing the roles of mom and fiancé. She recently tweeted:
