Timbaland drops video for 'Know About Me' off new album 'Textbook Timbo'

Timbaland is mounting his umpteenth attempt to break free from the oppresive shackles of being one of the most succesful and recognizable hip-hop producers of all time, trying once again to cross over as a rap artist. If his latest video, the Lil Mama-cribbing "Know About Me", is any indication Mr. Mosley might finally make it.

The video focuses on a leather-clad lady who is searching an abandoned building for the Textbook Timbo that gives the album its name.

The track reminds us that Timothy isn't the best rapper in the world. However, he shores that up with a menacing beat that sounds like it was siphoned directly from John Carpenter's dreams and guest spots from Drake, Jay Z and in-demand crooner James Fauntleroy.

Timbo drops sometime next year.
