Sarah Palin & Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal defend 'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson's anti-gay comments in GQ magazine

Earlier this week Phil Robertson, one of the stars of A&E's hit reality series Duck Dynasty, made some remarks to GQ Magazine about homosexuality and heterosexuality. Clearly not an ideal person to ask about these subjects, Robertson's comments have been viewed as bigoted and anti-gay. This has led to plenty of backlash for Robertson and the show, but he does have one person coming to his defense: Sarah Palin!

In response to A&E's decision to indefinitely suspend Robertson from filming his show, the former Vice President candidate took to her Facebook account to point out the how politics work into this situation.

Here is an excerpt from Palin's Facebook:

Free speech is an endangered species. Those "intolerants" hatin' and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us. A& E has proven that liberalism is not only an ideology of hate and rage, it is also an ideology of intolerance and tyrannical oppression, and it appears to have awakened a sleeping conservative giant.

I'm sorry, but this has EVERYTHING to do with free speech. We are no longer permitted to express our personal opinions unless said opinions happen to agree with the liberal left. Have we become such a "police state" that we can no longer even converse??????

Another politician coming to the defense of Robertson is Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal.

"I remember when TV networks believed in the First Amendment," Jindal stated. "It is a messed up situation when Miley Cyrus gets a laugh, and Phil Robertson gets suspended."
