Jennifer Lawrence beats Miley Cyrus by one vote, 'Hunger Games Catching Fire' starlet named 'AP Entertainer of the Year' 2013 following 'Wrecking Ball' feud
It's official - Jennifer Lawrence is the Associated Press' 2013 "Entertainer of the Year." The "Hunger Games: Catching Fire" beauty beat rival Miley Cyrus by just one vote.
Reports confirm that the AP asked editors and news directors throughout the country to pick the person/entity that they believed had the "most influence" on entertainment culture this past year. 70 ballots were submitted, and Lawrence won with 15 votes (Cyrus, just 14).
Netflix snagged third, with "Breaking Bad" and Justin Timberlake wrapping-up the Top 5.
Past winners include Adele, Lady Gaga, Tina Fey, and Taylor Swift. Go girls!
According to Oil City, PA reporter Kristi Runyan, the 23-year-old Academy Award winning actress "is not only talented and beautiful, but comes off as incredibly intelligent, genuine, funny and well-spoken in her public appearances and interviews... It's refreshing to see a young woman not squandering her talent and success by succumbing to the temptations many do in Hollywood and who actively speaks about the ridiculous behavior of some of her peers."
Lawrence has yet to comment on the honor.
Wonder if this will reignite those "feud" rumors...
