Gravity has already received a huge amount of recognition and with the Oscars coming up, the buzz continues to grow. In this video, it gives us a behind-the-scenes look at how the movie was made. Director Alfonso Cuaron shares some of the secrets and insights on how this film came to be what it is.

"When you're writing, you're not thinking how you're going to make it happen," Cuaron says. "I have to say, I thought it was going to be much simpler. It was not until early on that we realized that we will need to create something new."

The featurette provided by Warner Bros. shows how Bullock was able to execute the choreography and takes a look with George Clooney at the screenplay. The producers of the film talk about how the technology and visual effects allowed the film to recreate the idea of space so seamlessly.

Cuaron discusses how Gravity is a film about adversity, and it is a metaphor for the adversity all of us face in our everyday lives. "In the writing process, we knew that we wanted to express the themes not in a rhetoric way, but through visual metaphors," he said.

"It's a story about what makes us try, when there's nothing left to try for," says Bullock.

Take a look at this fascinating display of how a lot of the film came together. From the combination of technologies to create the mesmerizing shots of Bullock and Clooney tumbling around in space, using moving lights, cameras and the actors themselves in a kind of box, to the elegance of the message, Gravity was an impactful project for the industry.
