2 Chainz possibly facing jail time following his Oklahoma City arrest
Finding out you could possibly be facing jail time is no good news at all. The Oklahoma City Police Department really put a damper on 2 Chainz' Christmas spirit.
Back in August, the Atlanta rapper was arrested in Oklahoma City when police found weed, pain killers and guns on his tour bus. 2 Chainz was making an appearance at Lil Wayne's "America's Most Wanted" show at Chesapeake Energy Arena.
The tour bus was initially stopped because of a busted taillight. Police then attempted to conduct a full search when they sniffed out pot.
2 Chainz reportedly refused to let officers on board and was subsequently arrested for obstructing a public officer. A search warrant was obtained and 2 Chainz and about ten other people were placed under arrest.
Fast forward four months and 2 Chainz has been formally charged with a misdemeanor for obstructing of justice and may face jail time and a fine.
According to AllHipHop, 2 Chainz could be looking at up to a year behind bars and a $1,000 fine. Not a good look for someone who recently announced a tour for this upcoming year.
2 Chainz is slated to hit the road beginning in February 2014 for a two-month long American tour in support of his new album B.O.A.T.S II: Me Time.
Pusha T and August Alsina are set to open up the shows on what is being called the "2 Good 2 Be T.R.U. Tour."
2 Chainz took to Twitter to vent yesterday (Dec. 24) saying:
"So the fact that OKC is charging me with obstruction months after pulling my bus over And finding nothing lets me know the devil is busy."
