As promised, the Air Nike Yeezy II Red Octobers will be released today (Dec. 27) but if you're looking to cop a pair, you're going to have to do a little digging.

Footlocker originally announced that the shoes would be available Dec. 27. The company's official Twitter page sent out this tweet:

"UPDATE: The Red Nike Air Yeezy 2 will be available ONLINE ONLY on December 27th at 8am EST.- Foot Locker (@footlocker)"

The tweet was sent out just last week (Dec. 20) and sent sneakerheads into a frenzy.

But then the company sent out another tweet on Christmas Eve taking back its previous promise.

Footlocker said, "Unfortunately, the Nike Air Yeezy 2 will not be releasing via https://Footlocker.com  on Dec 27. We have no further updates at this time."

The company has not since tweeted about the shoe or offered up any details on the situation.

Back in November, Yeezy announced that he had left his deal with Nike and had signed a new deal with Adidas. Fans were left wondering if the shoe would even be released.

Mr. Yeezus hasn't spoken on the situation, sending out his last tweet on Dec. 21.

It's not looking too good for the Red Octobers. Good luck to anyone out there looking for a pair.

What are your thought on the situation? Were you looking forward to buying a pair of the Nike Air Yeezy II Red Octobers? If so, are you still going to try to get a pair?
