The Big Bang Theory Season 7 Spoilers: Penny drunkenly proposes to Leonard?

The CBS hit sitcom The Big Bang Theory returns tonight (Thursday, Jan. 2) with the first all-new episode of 2014, and it seems like a lot will go down during the half-hour broadcast entitled "The Hesitation Ramification." Penny reaches not one, but two significant milestones in her life, though all is not what it seems.

According to the official description for the episode, Penny gets her big break in acting with a role on NCIS. But things quickly go south for the plucky Nebraska girl, which leads to one too many drinks. And in that altered state of mind, she asks Leonard a "bold relationship question."

In Season 6's Valentine's Day episode back in February, Leonard and Penny reached a deal. He would not ask her to get married anymore so as not to put pressure on her, but when she was ready, she would have to be the one to ask him. It seems likely, then, that Penny's "bold relationship question" would be the BIG question.

A taping report for next week's Jan. 9 episode, "The Occupation Recalibration," seems to confirm this. In that episode, Penny quits her job at The Cheesecake Factory to focus all her time and energy on acting. During one of their conversations in the episode, Penny thanks Leonard for doing the right thing with regard to her drunken mistake, which would appear to be her proposal.
