Katy Perry Opens Up About Divorce and New Film
Not much is known about the story of Katy Perry and comedian Russell Brand's short-lived marriage, but the singer recently opened up about her divorce. Perry discusses in more detail in an interview Hollywood Reporter regarding the breaking down of her marriage in the midst of her growing success. Her anticipated concert film "Part of Me" will release on July 5th, revealing the good and the bad of the past year and the years leading up to her current success.
Reigning among the pop queens of this era, one would think that Perry has it all. But the Teenage Dreams singer revealed that there is so much more than what meets the eyes.
"There were times when what was going on in my personal life was so overwhelming that I had to bend over to let those tears fall straight out of my eyes and not my false lashes just as I'm about to go up on that ramp and sing 'Teenage Dream,'" Perry told The Hollywood Reporter in their exclusive cover story.
On her marriage, she shared, "Like how I write my songs, honesty has always worked for me. So if it ain't broke, why f---ing fix it?" As for all the rumors and stories written by the press, "Nobody knows what really happened except the two people who are in it," Perry added.
Everyone is expected to see Perry uncovered and being comfortable in her own skin in the upcoming 'Part of Me' film. There will be live concert footage and behind the scenes features that reveal the side of Perry that many have not seen.
Perry herself gave $2 million to get this project moving last year. "My frugal business manager, God bless him, was sweating," she shared. Perry confidently said to those around her. "Trust me, I have a vision."
Since she was young, she had a dream. And one by one, her dream was achieved. The pop princess said it takes a lot of hard work, sacrifice and focus to achieve the success she currently has.
Now, she is also planning to start her own record label to help aspiring artists out there.
