MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry delivers emotional televised apology to Romney family
One of MSNBC's favorite hosts has issued an apology to former presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his family. Melissa Harris-Perry recently came under fire for jokes she made about Romney's grandson Kieran, who is African-American being apart of the Caucasian family.
The political host apologized for her remarks, as well as her panel, for offending the Romney family.
She chose to make her heartfelt apology on her live show this Saturday (Jan. 4). Watch below:
According to The Hollywood Reporter, when the Republican politician was asked by multiple sources how he felt about the apology, he said that he has forgiven Perry.
"I recognize that people make mistakes and the folks at MSNBC made a big mistake, and they’ve apologized for it and that’s all you can ask for," he said. "I’m going to move on from that, I’m sure they want to move on from that. Look, I’ve made plenty of mistakes myself and they’ve apologized for this and, you know, I think we can go on from there.”
The former Republican nominee believed that the apology made by Perry was "clearly heartfelt," and he and his family are willing to accept it.
MSNBC has not reported any suspensions or any other actions towards Melissa Harris-Perry, maybe her quick apology makes everything OK for everyone.
