Michael Bay explains his meltdown at Samsung's CES 2014 press conference
Michael Bay, who directs the upcoming sequel Transformers: Age of Extinction, had what many are describing as a meltdown at Samsung's CES 2014 press conference on Monday. If you haven't seen the video, which made the rounds rather quickly in the immediate aftermath of the incident, you can check it out below.
Bay was about to speak for Samsung about a fancy new massive television the company has produced, but he lost the teleprompter and stormed off stage. See for yourself how the Transformers director lost his cool:
But to his credit, Bay went on his blog not long after and offered an explanation for his action:
"Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES," the director writes. "I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP's intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down - then I walked off. I guess live shows aren't my thing...But I'm doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung and Transformers 4 footage that will be traveling around the world."
It seems as though Bay just wants to chalk this up to a bad day and an embarrassing moment and just get on with his life, which is probably the right call. What do you think of Bay's freak out and subsequent apology? Little deal, big deal or no deal at all? Let us know in the comments below.
