Josh Finkelman sues NFL for over priced Super Bowl tickets
Mstars has learned that a New Jersey man is actively suing the National Football League, claiming that the organization's pricing average for football fans to attend the Super Bowl is outrageous, and that the NFL is withholding tickets from the public.
According to the NY Daily News, Josh Finkelman, 28 of New Brunswick, N.J. filed a lawsuit in a Newark Federal Court, charging the league with breaking New Jersey's law by issuing only percent of the stadium seats in MetLife to the public, which violates the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
In other words most football fans will have to order tickets on a secondary market, where they would be charged thousands of dollars.
"The NFL generates nearly $10 billion in revenues," said Bruce Nagel, Attorney to Finkelman. "And then, for the biggest sporting event of the year, they totally ignore their fan base and only release 1% of the tickets."
The Denver Channel reports that Finkelman filed the lawsuit on Monday, and is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars in damages.
The Houston Texans fan wanted to attend the recording breaking cold weather Super Bowl on Feb. 2, and decided to visit the NFL.com website to purchase tickets. Finkelman said he was quickly guided to a resale site where one seat would cost as much as $4,000.
After doing research on other sites, the furious fan found two seats for the price of $2,000 a piece.
