Jason Momoa is perhaps best known for his role as Khal Drogo on the HBO smash hit Game of Thrones, but the actor's name has been at the center of recent swirling rumors that he would have a part in the Man of Steel sequel, currently known as Batman vs. Superman.

Some have suggested that Momoa would play Doomsday, the Kryptonian monster that famously killed Superman in the comics. Others have Metallo, the half-machine villain with the Kryptonite chunk in his chest. But the actor himself has now denied those rumors and dismissed them all as mere speculation.

IGN interviewed Momoa about his Sundance series The Red Road, and the topic of Batman vs. Superman arose.

"It's just rumors," Momoa told the site. "I want to say something amazing, but I can't comment on rumors. It's flattering." He then added, "I'm not involved in it."

The site commented that he seemed like a no-brainer for a superhero movie, and he responded with the following:

"Maybe that's how it came out. Maybe someone said, 'You should be in this!' and I said, 'Yeah that would be great!' And it just went too far."

This is not the first time Momoa's name has come up for a big-budget superhero film, as he was also linked to the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (Dave Bautista eventually got the part).

"I mean you audition for things," Momoa said. "I auditioned for it. I think it's the kind of like, 'He's a big guy that does action, and he's gonna fit in somewhere,'" he said with a shrug.
