Actor Sean Penn hosted the 3rd annual Help Haiti Home Gala in Beverly Hills, CA on Saturday (January 11). Penn along with a slew of celebrity pals helped to raise $6 million for the cause.

Several big-name Hollywood stars came out to support Penn and his charity, J/P Haitian Relief Organization. Julia Roberts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin, Chris Hemsworth, Goldie Hawn, and rumored girlfriend Charlize Theron were just some of the celebs spotted at the star-studded event presented by Giorgio Armani at Beverly Hills' infamous Montage Hotel. The members of U2 also showed-up for a surprise performance. After four years, Bono finally reunited with his bandmates and they performed "Vertigo" and "Desire."

Following the event, Penn told People, "This town has been very supportive of me and, more importantly, what our organization is doing in Haiti. I got a lot of gratitude and no complaints."

Donations were raised through bids on various items. According to Celebrity Buzz, popular CNN news anchor Anderson Cooper was the biggest spender of the night. He paid $1.4 million for a sculpture that'll be made from discarded firearms owned by Penn. Meanwhile, Paltrow and her rocker hubby Martin dished-out $650,000 for a Banksy art piece. Bansky is an infamous UK-based graffiti and street artist known for his political activism. Theron indulged in a bidding war against the couple, but ultimately lost the big prize.

The Academy Award winning actress spent the entire evening by Penn's side. Rumors suggest that the two are currently dating.
