In the spring of 2013, the Doncaster Rovers announced that One Direction's Louis Tomlinson would be joining the team as a part-time player. The lifelong fan of the team had high hopes for his new semi-professional football career, but after sustaining an injury during a charity match in the summer his debut on the team was pushed back indefinitely. That was then, though, and now reports are saying that this debut is set for March!

While wearing his Rovers jersey with the number 28 on the back, Louis spoke about his excitement for playing and explained how this new career came about.

"We've got a couple of months off now but we're usually abroad on tour so I don't get to see Rovers that often," Louis said of his busy One Direction schedule. "Six months ago I was joking about with one of the guys at the club and the joke became reality so I'm on the squad!"

He added: "I've been a fan since I was a young boy, and used to go with my dad and grandad. I'm registered as a player."

Louis then announced his debut, stating: "I'm all right (as a player), I play right back - a bit hit and miss! We're planning a reserve game in March before the band goes on tour in April."

Though he might be a bit shy about his skills, we'll be sure to see just how he does in March when he hits the pitch with his favorite team. How many games do you think he'll play in before he heads off on the "Where We Are" world stadium tour?
