Season two of Cinemax's Emmy-winning series Banshee got off to an exciting start last week, so how do you think the second episode, "The Thunder Man," did in terms of keeping the momentum going? We see that Anna/Carrie ends up going to jail while Sheriff Hood has to deal with Procter, the Indian Casino, and his own department in order to keep everyone happy. Does he succeed or does he just get pummeled by countless adversaries in the process. Would it be wrong to say that it's a little of both? (SPOILERS to follow)

"The Thunder Man" opens with a parallel of Hood and Anna/Carrie. We see the Sheriff waking up with his latest hook up, Nola, and Mrs. Hopewell adjusting to living out of a motel room. Clearly our main characters are headed in very different directions this season.

We're also treated to a Kai Procter training sessions that coincides with Rebecca masturbating. This scene starts off with Hood, but soon takes a turn towards incest as she fantasizes about her uncle. What should we expect from this strange relationship? Luckily, this episode is the first to really delve into the subject.

So Mrs. Hopewell gets sentenced to "no less than 30 days" in prison, which is another great parallel between her and Hood. This plotline gives us a number of great scenes including Hood having a panic attack while dropping off his former lover to serve her sentence. Prison had a horrible affect on him, and it still shows. Also, we see that Carrie is still very much Anna when she destroys another inmate in a brawl.

Meanwhile, Rebecca is kidnapped by the Longshadows. This leads to Procter asking Hood to get her back. He has no jurisdiction on the Indian Reservation, so he has to use force. He eventually negotiates the release of Rebecca, but the fight scenes leading up to that are easily the best of the series so far. Definitely worth watching a number of times!

Another interesting development in this episode that is sure to grow in the season is that people are starting to question Hood's past. First Procter plants a little seed of doubt in the mind of Deputy Lotus concerning the bodies found at the end of season one, including the real Sheriff Hood. Also, Procter confronts Hood about the armored car robbery, as if to tell him he's on to him. They're discovering puzzle pieces, really, and season two is most likely when they put it all together.

What about the whole situation with Deputy Kelly's ex-husband coming into town? That backstory was crazy! But it's nice to see her get some form of revenge in the form of a bible beatdown. We also got to see Kelly and Hood briefly make out! There are certainly a number of fans hoping for this relationship, so perhaps season two will expand on that, too!
