Chris Brown's most recent run in with the law has prompted an internal affairs investigation with the District of Columbia Police Department.

According to Vibe Magazine, some inconsistencies have arisen in police reports for an incident involving Brown and a man outside the W hotel. Brown allegedly assaulted the man after he tried to photobomb a picture Brown was taking with fans.

The Associated Press reports that statements made by a police officer who responded to the reports of Brown's assault are currently under investigation.

Someone close to Brown reportedly told the officer that the alleged victim told him that the singer never actually struck him. Since then, the officer has denied ever speaking with the acquaintance however, new evidence shows differently.

A uniformed Secret Service officer claims to have overheard the conversation between the police officer and Brown's acquaintance. The alleged victim denies the discussion ever happened.

In a written statement, Police Chief Cathy Lanier had this to say:

"We are aware of the discrepancy among witness statements in the Chris Brown case. This is not uncommon in cases with multiple witnesses involved. We have received no complaint of misconduct on the part of any officer in this matter."

Looks like things have gotten messy for Breezy.

Mstars recently reported that Chris Brown turned down a plea deal in this case. He faces a maximum penalty of 180 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Chris Brown will return to court for another hearing on Feb. 20.
