According to ABC News, boxer Floyd Mayweather, Jr. will be calling it quits soon. During a trip to South Africa, Mayweather announced that his last fight will take place in September 2015.

Mayweather made the announcement at a gala dinner in Soweto, South Africa. His exact words were: "September 2015 will be my last."

Mayweather has had quite a good run throughout his career. He first dove into the box game as an adolescent in 1987 and has dominated ever since. He boasts an impressive undefeated streak with a 45-0 record and 26 knockouts since going pro back in 1996.

Hopefully Mayweather can maintain his winning streak after his next match in May of this year. He has listed Amir Khan or Marcos Maidana as the forerunners.

Last September Mayweather he had two years left in his pro-career, including four more match-ups after defeating Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

According to the Bleacher Report, Mayweather's retirement likely coincides with the end of his current pay-per-view contract with Showtime.

The source reports that Mayweather signed a six-fight, 30-month deal with the network. He'd already had two fights since signing that deal and will have a third in May. After that he would need one more fight in 2014 and then two more in 2015 to fulfill the obligations of the deal.

With that being said, the chances of Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao meeting in the ring again are slim to none. But who knows the two may be able to arrange something.
