Johnny Depp and Amber Heard engaged! Actor 'converts' his lesbian 'Rum Diary' co-star after splitting with longtime girlfriend Vanessa Paradis

Before young starlet Amber Heard starred in The Rum Diary opposite Hollywood superstar Johnny Depp, she was an openly gay actress. But then the two started dating, making us question if she was really a lesbian in the first place. Whatever her sexuality, she is apparently in love with Depp because news broke this week that the two are engaged!

Ever since the two started dating, plenty of news outlets were saying that Depp "converted" Heard from her lesbianism. This, of course, is complete conjecture and just a fun way to spin the news. All we can really say is that the young actress had a life-changing experience with Depp.

In fact, in 2010 the young actress was in a relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree, but later said she did not want to be categorized as a lesbian. So in all actuality, Heard never claimed to be a lesbian.

Anyway, we offer our congratulations on her first engagement!

"They couldn't be happier to be engaged and excited to share the rest of their lives together. Amber has really taken well to the kids and really enjoys spending time with them," a source told People.

Depp left his longtime girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, for heard (reportedly), without ever asking the French model and singer to marry him. Paradis and Depp have two children together.

This relationship is clearly worth making changes for both of these stars, so hopefully it all works out!
