Andrea Cardosa sexual abuse exposed in student Jamie Carrillo's shocking Youtube confession VIDEO: California teacher resigns after disturbing allegations years later [WATCH]
Jamie Carrillo is now a 28-year-old mother of two - but back in middle and high school, she was sexually abused several times by basketball coach Andrea Cardosa. Carrillo finally decided to confront Cardosa about their inappropriate student-teacher relationship during a phone conversation years later - she even recorded the confession and posted it on Youtube. The disturbing audio quickly went viral, and Cardosa officially resigned from her position as Alhambra High School's Vice Principal on Friday (January 17).
The abuse allegedly started when Carrillo was just 12-years-old - and it continued on for years. Here's the emotional phone conversation where Carrillo gets Cardosa to admit her wrongdoings:
VERBAL EXCHANGE:
JAMIE: "So what happens when a student comes in and says that they're having a sexual relationship with a teacher?"
TEACHER: "I would involve law enforcement."
-
JAMIE: "So how is that any different from what you did (years ago)?"
TEACHER: "It's not."
-
JAMIE: "Do you realize that you brainwashed me, and you manipulated me, and that what you did was wrong?"
TEACHER: "Yes. And I regret it."
-
JAMIE: "You should be so ashamed and so disgusted with yourself."
TEACHER: "I am. I am."
Before the viral footage even hit the web, Cardosa resigned. Officials at Alhambra High School released a statement insisting that Cardosa's resignation came after they saw the YouTube video and confronted her about the troubling allegations on January 17:
"At the conclusion of that interview the Alhambra High School administrator tendered her resignation. Alhambra Police department will be handing this matter over to the jurisdiction of the appropriate police Department."
Cardosa allegedly went into hiding.
At a press conference outside of the school on Monday (January 20), Carrillo told reporters - "The reason why I wanted to do this was to expose her for what she really was and to protect other kids, because she shouldn't be around anyone's kids."
Carrillo is shocked that Cardosa never actually apologized during the heated exchange.
Police recently launched an investigation - however, the statute of limitations may get in the way considering the alleged abuse took place over 10 years ago.
