WWE Spoilers: CM Punk's future with WWE and Dolph Ziggler's comments that reportedly stopped his push
CM Punk has said publicly in the past few years that he does not want to a be pro wrestling lifer and that he wants to walk away from the company on his own terms and not have injuries force him out of the business. A new report indicates that that could happen sooner rather than later.
PWInsider.com reports that CM Punk's current contract will expire in July and that WWE wants to squeeze everything they can out of him in case The Second City Saint decides not to renew his contract. WWE has announced that the Payback pay-per-view would be held at the Allstate Arena in Chicago on June 1. This was the event at which Punk returned after his hiatus after WrestleMania 29.
Punk's current storyline with the Authority could lead to another "Summer of Punk" angle that occurred in 2011. If he decides not to re-sign, then Punk could wrestle his last pay-per-view for WWE in his hometown.
Of course, none of this is confirmed, and it is entirely possible that Punk could be with the company for several more years.
Dolph Ziggler's Comments Revealed?
Wrestlezone.com reported several months ago that Dolph Ziggler had made some comments that got him into hot water with WWE and stopped his push. The comments were unknown at the time, but F4WOnline.com now reports that the comments in question came from a Sept. 4, 2013 interview that Ziggler gave to MLive.com:
â"I've made it clear; I'm not patient at all - several times. I've been very vocal about my position on the card and in the company. I'm not trying to say, 'Hey, everybody sucks and I'm great!' But I love doing this, and at some point you go, 'OK, It's not my time right now and I got to figure something out.' And when it's time, that's when I must go out there and make as huge of an impact as I can and let everyone know, 'I dare you to follow that. I dare you try something better.' And when they don't (counter or match what I'm doing in the ring) I'm very outspoken about it and it can get me into very hot water (with the company). Then you never know where we're going. Everybody can be just so outspoken about taller guys, and guys like Randy Orton being the face of the WWE, the WWE Championship. I dare you to put me in a back alley with Randy Orton or someone like that. I guarantee I'm not afraid of someone taller."
