Big Boi confirms solo album rumors

Big Boi has confirmed the news from yesterday that the newly reunited OutKast will be dropping solo albums before we hear any new stuff from the ATLiens as a unit.

"Look out for that new Big Boi solo record coming, too" Big Boi said in an interview with Revolt. "It's coming up, man. Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors, and the next one - surprise!"

Check out the video from the epicenter of 'Kast news:

Yesterday the group's longtime producer Mr. DJ told fans to be on the lookout for new solo dolo material from Big Boi and Andre 3000 before we see a new reunion album proper.

"He's not certain, but-brace yourself-he believes 3000 will drop his long-awaited solo album this year. BET's Stephen Hill hinted at the idea last summer, when he tweeted out that Dre mentioned dropping a new album at the top of 2014. While it may not be coming that soon, a lot of material has been recorded for it, Mr. DJ notes.

Big Boi, meanwhile, also has a fair amount of material recorded for his own solo project, and Mr. DJ was in Stankonia with him just last week laying tracks down for it. The bigger plan at hand, it seems, is for both MCs to go on their 40-date festival run, drop solo projects, and then get back in the studio for a group project. Going on tour, Mr. DJ says, should help rekindle their creative relationship."

It's certainly been a rollercoaster ride of emotions since we found out that OutKast would headline over 40 festival dates in 2014. First, their former manager Queen Latifah told us a new album was on the way, then she rescinded her statements. Now, it looks like we have even longer to wait but any new material from Three Stacks and Leftfoot is good news.
