'Doctor Who' season 8, 2014 episodes: Check out the first photo of Peter Capaldi's 12th Doctor outfit!
The news of Peter Capaldi being cast as the successor to Matt Smith's leading role in the BBC's legendary series, Doctor Who, came during the summer of 2013 but this week we finally got our first look at the new star's outfit! As all of us Whovians know, the Doctor's look is as much a part of him as his personality, so this is a pretty big event for fans of the series.
Although we've already seen Capaldi in character in the Christmas special episode "The Time of the Doctor" (and just his eyebrows in the 50th anniversary special episode "The Day of the Doctor"), it was after his regeneration out of Smith's Eleven into his Twelve so he was just wearing his predecessor's outfit. Now we can see the new look of the Doctor that fans will surely emulate at conventions and Halloween around the world.
Here is Peter Capaldi's outfit for the Twelfth Doctor:
What do you think of this look? It's a bit reminiscent of previous Doctors, wouldn't you say? Let us know your feelings on this outfit in the comments section below!
As far as the upcoming new episodes of Doctor Who go, we know that the last two specials have influenced Capaldi's first few adventures.
Den of Geek reports:
The new season of Doctor Who will also see the return of fan favorite companion Clara Oswin Oswald (Jenna Coleman), as the Doctor overcomes a series of new ramifications left from the last two specials, such as the fact that Gallifrey is not destroyed, but is instead still a living planet trapped in a pocket universe out there somewhere. Further, it wants to come back into our universe, but many of the Doctor's enemies (and even a few of his allies) are opposed to such a power-shift like the return of the Time Lords. And of course, there is the fact that the new Doctor does not know how to fly his own TARDIS!
Expect new episodes of Doctor Who premiering later in 2014!
