Katy Perry Treat: Special Live Performance on Hollywood Blvd at 'Part of Me' Premiere
The highly anticipated film detailing Katy Perry's life as a pop star and ordinary girl will premiere on Tuesday, June 26. The 3-D documentary "Part of Me" will reveal the goods and bads of her journey throughout 2011, including front row coverage of her tours as well as the crumbling of her marriage to Russell Brand.
Before "Part of Me" hits the screen at Los Angeles' Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Perry will treat her fans to a special live performance on Hollywood Boulevard.
The film will show footage of Perry's early years growing up in a very Pentecostal Christian home, and the steps that led her to stardom now.
Perry affirms that she is just like any other woman, despite the fame and success.
"There's some scenes that I know people will screenshot and be like, 'Oh, she looks like a fat cow with zits.' But I put those in there because that's a part of me, that's reality, and I'm OK with that now," Perry honestly said to MTV News.
Perry continued, "It's been a process of learning it's OK, and I'm accepting of my own skin, but I think it's important for young kids to see that you don't have to be perfect in order to achieve your dreams, because I think that the world has this strange, skewed perception of successful people, that they're just so perfectly made up, and they have all these possessions that make them who they are, and that's not at all how I got here; I came from nothing. I didn't have anything."
"Katy Perry: Part of Me" will be showing in theaters on July 5th.
