Super Bowl XLVIII made history last night. The title fight between the Seattle Seahawks and the Denver Broncos became the first NFL Championship to be broadcast live in Spanish.

In the past, fans choosing to watch the Super Bowl in Spanish have been able to do so via SAP but this time around was a little different. Fans were able to watch the 2014 super Bowl as a single program broadcast in Spanish without having to hit any buttons.

John Laguna, who is responsible for bringing the Super Bowl to the FOX Deportes network had this to say:

"It's about time the Spanish-speaking people get to watch a Super Bowl without having to hit the SAP button on the remote. All the Super Bowls have been broadcast in parts of Latin America, it's surprising it has taken so long. This should have happened years ago."

Jeff Krolik, the President of FOX Sports Regional Networks, is proud of the network for making such huge strides.

"Being the first U.S. Spanish-language network to broadcast the Super Bowl is a testament to our continuous efforts to strengthen our programming, and further solidify FOX Deportes as the leader in the Latino sports space," Krolik said. "We are extremely pleased about our new agreement with the NFL."
