Pharrell to perform 'Happy' at Academy Awards
The Oscars may have tipped their hand on who's taking home the Best Original Song trophy. Pharrell has been asked to perform his nominated track "Happy," the superproducer/occasional solo artist's contribution to the Despicable Me 2 soundtrack.
Last year, Adele performed her Bond theme "Skyfall" before taking home the trophy later in the night. It remains to be seen if the Neptune will do the same.
Pharrell is up against U2's "Ordinary Love" from Mandela: Lomg Walk To Freedom, Idina Menzel's "Let It Go" from Frozen, Karen O's "Moon Song" from Her. A fifth song was pulled earlier this month due to controversy over its selection.
This year's Oscars are hosted by Ellen Degeneres and will air on March 2nd on ABC. Unlike the music video for "Happy," the ceremony will only feel 24 hours long.
