DMX's publicist clears the air, says the fight isn't official yet

The public doesn't seem to be too happy following the announcement that DMX and George Zimmerman would be meeting in the boxing ring but DMX's publicist claims that the fight isn't even official yet.

According to The Source, Domenick Nati, publicist to DMX, says that the fight is still up in the air. DMX hasn't signed any paperwork yet, so there's still a chance the fight might not happen.

So some of you folks may have gotten all worked up for nothing (let's hope).

It has been reported that the only reason the fight isn't official is because DMX is waiting to be offered more money. Now that puts an interesting twist on things.

In an email, Nati had this to say:

"The boxing match between George Zimmerman and DMX is not officially confirmed. DMX has promised to 'beat his ass,' but no contract or paperwork has been signed or agreed to yet. DMX will release an official statement if and when an agreement is made."

It wouldn't be a surprise if DMX were just in it for the money. It's no secret that the rapper has had his share of financial troubles. DMX filed for bankruptcy in July of last year.

But DMX could just have a general dislike for George Zimmerman. He did have some pretty harsh words for the guy a few days ago.

"I am going to beat the living f**k out him ... I am breaking every rule in boxing to make sure I f**k him right up," DMX told TMZ.
