BANSHEE Season 2 Episode 4 'The Truth About Unicorns' Recap: Carrie is reunited with Lucas, but what now? [SPOILERS]

Her sentence has been served and Carrie is now free from prison. But what can she do now that her family knows about her past? Will Lucas even accept her now that he's living a secret life as well? In "The Truth About Unicorns," the fifth episode of Banshee's second season, these are the questions asked to set up the second half of this 2014 chapter. (SPOILERS to follow)

Though "Lucas" and "Carrie" have new lives and identities, there's no changing the history between the two. As her ride from prison and possibly her only friend right now, Lucas is at an advantage to rehash the past. This has been his goal all along since coming into Banshee and taking up as Sheriff, so it feels like relief for fans that have been pulling for him this whole time.

But how long will it last?

After opening up to his ex-girlfriend about her new life, their daughter Deva, and Rabbit, it looks like closure was on its way. They spend the night together, though sleeping separately, in what once was a dream house. Lucas dreams of what could have been, only to have this dream turn into Carrie with a gun to his head, pulling the trigger. Yes, we get the symbolism but will Lucas accept this?

Just about halfway through this episode, we're reintroduced to FBI's special agent Racine (welcome back!) and his back-story. We learn why he wants to take out Rabbit and that he knows Lucas' past. Racine wants to team up with Hood and Carrie to find Rabbit.

Unfortunately, an incredibly surprising gunfight breaks out with a camouflaged individual and Racine ends his run as the coolest character on the show!

Lucas and Carrie soon take care of the mysterious shooter, who is revealed to be the person who was following them from the prison. Great little decoy that was earlier with the groceries! Needless to say, Rabbit is still after his daughter and Lucas, so that's unfortunate. Almost as unfortunate as the blatant symbolism of their dream house burning down with Racine inside.

"He's never going to stop coming. Not until we're both dead," Carrie states.

Accompanied by Mt. Royal's "Missing Reward," these two are right back to where they started: in a dead end town, at a dead end.
