Zack Snyder's untitled Man of Steel sequel, which the public is calling Batman vs. Superman until further notice, continues to be a source of intrigue for movie fans as they await the start of production on the film and absorb every nugget of information possible. This time around, the director himself has uttered some words about Ben Affleck, whose casting as Bruce Wayne/Batman has come with much criticism and skepticism from vocal fans.

Snyder spoke to French outlet Popcorn Magazine (translated by Comic Book Therapy) to discuss 300: Rise of an Empire and he stated again that he cast Affleck because of his ability to play Bruce Wayne by day and a more world-weary Batman by night.

"Ben brings an interesting counterweight to the performance of Henry [Cavill's] Superman. [Affleck] has the experience necessary to paint the picture of an older and more [advanced] man than Clark Kent, [one] who bears the scars of a seasoned vigilante while [simultaneously] retaining the charm that Bruce Wayne deploys when present in the world."

Snyder also said again that Frank Miller's The Dark Knight Returns would influence the movie, though it would not be a direct adaptation.

The site Batman-on-Film also claims to have some information about the movie. Firstly, the site states that filming would start n mid-March at the Michigan Motion Picture Studios in Pontiac, and that filming on location could start in late spring, possibly in May or June. Furthermore, the site notes that the footage Snyder shot at East Los Angeles College in October likely will not make the film. The scene involved a football game between Metropolis State University and Gotham City University.

Finally, the site claims that a shoot is occurring in Los Angeles involving the new Batmobile.

"Whether this footage will end up being used in the film or is for the purposes of testing/promotion is not entirely clear. But it does reveal that pre-Terrio/Affleck designs have been retained.
