Dong Nguyen's viral app Flappy Bird was WAY too much for the Vietnamese game developer to handle. Nguyen ended up deleting the "Flappy Bird" app from iTunes entirely. But he did NOT commit suicide afterwards, despite the morbid death hoax rumors currently going viral online.

UPDATE: Flappy Bird death HOAX leads to shocking Twitter death threats after Dong Nguyen deletes addictive game app, 'kill yourself'

Earlier this weekend, Nguyen tweeted:

@dongatory: "I am sorry 'Flappy Bird' users, 22 hours from now, I will take 'Flappy Bird' down. I cannot take this anymore."

@dongatory: "It is not anything related to legal issues. I just cannot keep it anymore."

@dongatory: "I also don't sell 'Flappy Bird', please don't ask... And I still make games."

And as promised, Flappy Bird no longer exists, and it was removed from all online stores.

The game app was originally released back in May 2013, but didn't explode until January 2014. Social media gamers quickly went crazy on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and beyond. Most fans were obsesses with how simple yet difficult the game was. And things just got a little too out-of-hand for Nguyen.

Even so, do NOT believe this bogus "RIP" report currently going viral on Twitter:

@Paul_kanan: "What a sad day for Flappy Bird developer. Rest in peace."

The fake news report declares:

SAN FRANCISCO - Flappy Bird developer Dong Nguyen has just been found dead in his home with a gunshot wound in his dead. Authorities are confirming that Nguyen committed suicide by shooting himself in the head with a pistol. Authorities are saying that the sensational game Flappy Bird had something to do with the suicide.

There has also been 7 reports of other suicides around the U.S. today alone. Flappy Bird developer Dong Nguyen has taken Flappy Bird off app stores this morning and is believed to be the cause of the suicides.

These faux tweets from a Nguyen "imposter" also instigated such suicide rumors:

"I can call 'Flappy Bird' is a success of mine. But it also ruins my simple life. So now I hate it... Press people are overrating the success of my games. It is something I never want. Please give me peace."

This is not true - Nguyen did not commit suicide. So please Mstars fans, do not spread around such a vicious and disturbing lie.
