Actress Julia Roberts' half-sister Nancy Motes found dead from apparent drug overdose

MStars has learned that Actress Julia Roberts half-sister, Nancy Motes was found dead from what looks like an apparent drug overdose.

The family announced Monday, that Motes, 37 was found dead Sunday, Feb. 9 in Los Angeles. Motes was the youngest sister of both Julia Roberts and Eric Roberts, also an actor.

The family released a statement after the tragic news:

"It is with deep sadness that the family of Nancy Motes ... confirms that she was found dead in Los Angeles yesterday of an apparent drug overdose," the statement reads. "There is no official report from the Coroner's office yet. The family is both shocked and devastated."

Motes death comes just one week after actor Philip Seymour Hoffman's death from an apparent heroin drug overdose.

According to the NY Daily News, Motes revealed that she was often teased by her estranged older sister, Julia for being overweight.

"When I was in high school and she was an adult, she would just let me know that I was definitely overweight," Motes said. "She would make it quite clear to me and in a not-so-nice a manner."

"It just makes me feel incredibly hurt and very sad," the half-sister, once weighed nearly 300 pounds, and decided to change her life undergoing gastric bypass surgery in June 2010.

After the surgery the site stated that Motes hoped that her new look could help mend their bond, but Motes revealed that thier realitonship was a, "work in progress."

"It's not going to be fixed overnight, nor do I think it's going to be fixed at this point by me just getting skinny."

At the time of the 2013 interview, Motes was living in Malibu with her fiance John Dilbeck, a film and TV locations manager. Wedding plans were scheduled for May.
