Damon Feldman has a change of heart, says fight between DMX and George Zimmerman is not canceled
Well it looks like the fight is back on. Seems like promoter Damon Feldman jumped the gun when he sent out tweets announcing that the DMX, George Zimmerman fight had been canceled. He's had a change of heart and the two will meet in the ring.
According to Feldman, we can disregard his cancelation notice. He took to Twitter to make his announcement.
Sunday (Feb. 9) Feldman sent out a tweet saying his previous tweets were sent during an "emotional" moment:
"I sent those tweets because I went through an emotional situation. I looked at my kids and I got emotional. I didn't sleep for three days because I'm trying to figure out how this thing happened. As of right now, the fight is not canceled."
He also took the opportunity to explain his intentions:
"This is a life altering thing for me career wise. If I didn't do this and I did call it off, who's gonna take care of my kids and family? If I couldn't do this, who's gonna put food on my table? I understand the blood money thing, but if I don't do this, someone else will."
Critics have brought up the issue of Zimmerman being considered a "celebrity." During an interview with The Source, Feldman had this to say:
"The media made George Zimmerman a celebrity, not me. I don't think he is a celebrity."
What do you think of Damon Feldman going back on his word?
