'I Knew You Were Trouble' songstress Taylor Swift admits she stays grounded thanks to her 'brutally honest' group of friends
Taylor Swift is one of the most down-to-Earth pop stars out there today. The humble songstress credits this endearing aspect of herself to her friends who she describes as "genuine" and "brutally honest." Apparently they keep her grounded despite being one of the most successful singers in the world!
"I don't want people around me telling me what they think I'd like to hear," she told LOOK magazine. "I love being surrounded by friends who are brutally honest and genuine. We talk about everything, except our work! It's always about reconnecting with each other, talking about relationships, love and guys - all the basic things!"
So it looks like Taylor's friends are one of the reasons Taylor is so great! Though we feel like she doesn't need to be reminded to be humble.
Meanwhile, Swift also spoke about her upcoming album and how her songwriting influences have changed. We know that her relationships influenced her music, so she's looking for another form of inspiration.
"My song writing will always have a confessional aspect because I naturally draw on my life and my stories," she explained. "I don't want to keep repeating the same things though - you want to be able to explore those themes in different ways and have something new to say."
She added: "It's maybe a natural extension of me talking about not taking c**p from people that others might take inspiration from. That would make me very happy if my songs can reach out to people and lead them to do something positive."
