'National Anthem' Sneak Peek: Lana del Rey Unveils Trailer for Latest Music Video [VIDEO]
Lana del Rey released a "trailer" for her "National Anthem" music video on Tuesday.
The trailer has drawn considerable buzz after the singer posted it on her Facebook page. The 4-minute footage mixes black and white scenes with color scenes and features rapper A$AP Rocky as former President John F. Kennedy and Del Rey as his wife Jacqueline Kennedy.
Del Rey appears wearing a suit and a veiled hat to resemble Jackie Kennedy and sitting in the back of an old convertible.
In another scene she is singing at a bar, resembling the moment when Marilyn Monroe sang "Happy Birthday" to Kennedy.
Del Rey, who is known for her retro-60's-sounding pop and her husky singing style, has said this is the most beautiful thing she has ever done.
"I wrote a treatment for me and A$AP Rocky, because I just thought he'd be really perfect to star in it. ... I love it," the singer said in an interview with BBC Radio 1.
Facebook was stormed with reactions to the video.
"Annoying, confusing, weird ... ABSOLUTELY GENIUS," one user said.
"Oh my god. This could be the greatest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait until I can see the whole thing," another Facebook user wrote.
"National Anthem," is the latest single of Lana Del Rey's 2012 album "Born to Die." She has not announced an official release date for the music video.
Del Rey became a media target after an infamous performance on Saturday Night Live earlier this year.
