The draw for the last sixteen of the UEFA Champions League has generated a lot of excitement, and no doubt the mouthwatering match was the in form English giants, Arsenal, taking on the reigning Champions League and Bundesliga winners, Bayern Munich. Arsenal faced them at this stage last season, and held their own, but fell short. Have they learned their lesson for this year?

With an in form Mesut Ozil Arsenal will fancy their chances, but sadly he has fizzled our after his fantastic start. Munich aren't a team to miss chances against, so if the English team are to progress it looks like they will have to win the first of the two games, which takes place on Wednesday 19th February.

Arsenal do lack pace, especially without the frightening, rapid Theo Walcott, who misses out through injury. Each player will have to stick to their man and allow them an inch of space. Bayern have speed all over in Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. Bayern have strength in every area which makes them a very difficult team to take on.

Arsenal can indeed win, but any signs of their recent form and they could face the wrath of Bayern, resulting in an embarrassing defeat. Arsenal have the ability in their team, but they may need help from the bench players in order to pull off a late shock, by grabbing a late goal. This game will be close, but expect Bayern to have the edge, or can Arsene Wenger surprise us all and get one over on Pep Guardiola ?
